Marine Operator
As a result of changes within our Marine Department, we have a vacancy in our Marine Services Team.
The role includes:
- Co-ordinating line calling operations and acting as lines crew leader
- Preparing berths, dockside and mooring operations

- Maintaining dock structures
- Supporting Syncrolift operations
- Supporting tug teams as crew
The roster is structured to include 2 weeks allocated to Marine Services on days, 1 week allocated to the Syncrolift and 1 week allocated to Marine Services on nights. As the port operates on a 24/7 basis, there will also be one weekend in every 4 week period co-ordinating lines calling activities and other marine services.
We are looking for someone who wants a career in the port industry, with skills that are transferable across the marine team and wider port operations. Our ideal candidate will have a background in the marine industry, and be familiar with how our tidal port operates. The role includes Syncrolift operations, therefore forklift skill and experience is essential (engineering or heavy machinery experience will be an advantage).
This is not a regular nine-to-five job, so the successful candidate needs to have a good work-life balance and understand shared responsibility for managing their fatigue.
